Yes, when appropriate, but it's typically not the first place I go with clients. While I support my clients in advocating for themselves and getting their regular insurance-covered labs from their doctors, I've found many functional practitioners over-test and under-deliver with their patients when it comes to functional testing. I've found my program is just as if not more effective, and often doesn't even need to utilize functional lab testing. That being said, if we've started working together and you are doing all the foundations and are still not seeing results, we can explore functional lab testing together (like GI Map stool testing or DUTCH hormone testing) to get a clearer picture of what’s going on. This functional testing is not always required - I can also guide you using a symptom-based, food-first approach.
